Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Ampie Labs LLC ("Ampie Labs," "we," "us"), a New York limited liability company located at 1815 51st St, Brooklyn, NY 11204, United States, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our website (ampielabs.com) and our products and services, including integrations we build and operate on the WhatsApp Business Platform.
1. Who we are in each relationship
We handle data in two distinct roles:
- As a controller — for information you give us directly, for example when you email us or inquire about our services.
- As a service provider (processor) — when we build and operate messaging integrations on behalf of business clients. In that role we process data under our client's instructions; the business you are communicating with is responsible for that relationship, and its own privacy policy applies alongside this one.
2. Information we collect
Website visitors
Our website does not use advertising trackers and does not require accounts. Our hosting infrastructure may record standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability purposes.
Business contacts
If you contact us, we keep your name, contact details, and correspondence for as long as needed to work together and to meet legal obligations.
Messaging integrations operated for clients
When we operate a WhatsApp Business Platform integration for a client, we may process on the client's behalf:
- Phone numbers and profile names of message senders and recipients;
- Message content and attachments sent to or from the client's WhatsApp Business Account, where the integration requires it (for example, to route a conversation, generate an automated reply, or log a support ticket);
- Message metadata (timestamps, delivery status, template and category information);
- Technical account data for the client's WhatsApp Business Account (account identifiers, phone number identifiers, access credentials issued by Meta).
We do not collect this data for our own purposes. We use it solely to provide the contracted integration services to the client that owns the account.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and secure our services and integrations;
- To respond to inquiries and manage client relationships;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements;
- To monitor service quality and diagnose technical problems.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use message content for advertising. We do not use client message data to train AI models. Where an integration includes AI-assisted features, message content is processed only to generate the responses or analysis the client has configured.
4. Sharing
We share information only with:
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — messages sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform necessarily pass through Meta's infrastructure under Meta's own terms and privacy policies;
- Infrastructure providers — reputable hosting, database, and cloud providers under contractual confidentiality, used solely to run our services;
- Our clients — messages and related data belonging to a client's account are, by design, available to that client;
- Authorities — where required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
5. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Message data processed for a client is retained according to that client's configuration and contract, and is deleted or returned when the engagement ends, except where law requires longer retention. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (TLS) for data in transit, access controls limiting data access to those who need it, credential management for platform tokens, and monitoring of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect the data entrusted to us.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@ampielabs.com. If your request concerns messages you exchanged with a business that uses our integration services, we may refer the request to that business (the controller of that data) and will assist them in honoring it.
Instructions for requesting deletion of your data are published at ampielabs.com/data-deletion.
8. Children
Our services are directed at businesses and are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be available at ampielabs.com/privacy. Material changes will be noted on this page.
